Holt Hawks Library does what is best for each student. It is a gathering place for all and promotes a lifelong LOVE of learning and reading!

Book Battles

This year Holt will be participating in the Davis School Districts Battle of the Books Competition.

What are the Book Battles?

A reading program and competition for any 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th graders
Students can earn buttons and other prizes by filling out the Battle Book form, found on the Holt Library page and pass of the books they have read.
Students read from a list of 15 books.
When you finish your first book, you will receive a lanyard and your first button.
Every time you finish a book, fill out the form online and you will receive a button and be entered in the drawing.
Each student will be put on a team.
The teams will compete against each other and in March, the winning 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade teams will go to the District competition that will be held on March 22.
Each student has to read AT LEAST 3 books from the list. They will decide which 3 those are as a team.
I have multiple copies of each title in the library. You can also find and check out the books on SORA (our online library) in the form of eBooks and audio books.
Can you read all 15 books on the list? YES! I encourage you to read as many as possible!
Can you listen to the books? YES!
Can I read the books with my parents or siblings or family members? YES! Please do.
We will be practicing the Battle Questions during library time starting in February so GET STARTED TODAY!
